The flight left on time and landed in Kuching 85 minutes later. As we were going through Sarawak's customs process, we noticed advertisements on the wall for Tune Hotel advertising rooms starting at 9.95 RM. As we started looking for a method to get from the airport to the downtown area of the city of Kuching, we noticed that Tune Hotels offered a shuttle service at 7.99 RM each. This was a better deal than the taxis for 25 RM, and since they leave every 30 minutes we didn't have to wait long...

Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia aaronpolarbearA good day today! Check in at Gold coast was a breeze, security painfully slow (but to be expected) and we breezed through Customs. The flight Boarded early, Left OOL early and arrived in KUL right on time. Nothing but good words about AirAsiaX, especially when you consider the price we payed. The heat hit us as soon as we left the aircraft on the ground in KUL. Tonight was pretty cruisy, after taking the bus to KL Sentral and a Taxi to the Tune Hotel we managed to freshen up and head out to ...
Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan, Malaysia bass_keToday was a pretty full on day After getting up and into some Malaysian Coffee we got a taxi around to Petronas Towers. Had a bit of a look around the shops there before heading off to Batu Caves. The caves were pretty decent and we took a 272 step trek up a massive staircase into the caves. There were plenty of crazy ass monkeys hanging around to keep us entertained. Afterwards we just went back into a bit more of a look around the shops and went up into the skybridge in Petronas Towers. Get...
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia bass_keToday has been a tops dayt so far, albeit a tiring one. We were up at 0415 to get a taxi from The Tune to KL Sentral where we were able to check in our bags for the flight and get to the airport in 28 minutes. The flight itself was tops, plenty of food for the journey as well. MH - Malaysian Hospitality We had a look around the biggest hypermall in eastern Malaysia and then went into Kota Kinabalu itself. We found a pretty mad Aussie BBQ and Beer gardern, apparently a heap of navy boys have b...
Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia bass_keAll in all today was pretty relaxing Quick walk down the waterfront to grab some breakfast, another stroll through town and then a flight back to Kota Kinabalu. We spent most of the rest of the day wandering around 1Borneo, this place is bloody massive! Tommorrow we are off to Bangkok so it should be pretty interesting, plenty of flying!
Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia bass_keAnother early start so we could get another awesome breakfast at the guesthouse, 1 Chinese Malay fellow took your order, your money, prepared your food and bought it out to you and still managed to make every meal brilliant! After that we went for a stroll down the street to grab some supplies for the impending bus journey and to grab some of the world famous Cameroon highlands Scones and Jam. We got on the bus at about 1300 and started the descent back into KL, there were some awesome sights...
Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan, Malaysia bass_ke Today was the first day in two days of epic journey.
We started with another awesome breakfast and showed a stack of pictures to a really cool kid that worked at the guesthouse, Zay Htet Hein. He's keen to finish up Uni, learn English really well and become a translator hopefully in Bangkok, Singapore or Even Aus, heaps of ambition.
We shot off to the airport at about 1000 and found it quite hilarious to see that the pride and joy of the Junta was still suffering the same blacko...

After finally catching our (3 times)
delayed flight, we finally made it in to Kuala Lumpur airport just
before 1:30am. We have no Malaysian funny money yet, the cash
machine is out of order and we need to buy bus tickets to our hotel!
On a mission, Dean legs it out of the terminal (out of the one way
doors) to find a cash machine, hoping it will give him money – T
minus 10 minutes before bus is due to leave....damn foreigners at the
cash machine trying to ...

... can build. Used a knife and fork today for the first time in weeks, been using chopsticks or my hands for most meals. I'd almost forgotten how to use weatern cutlery, it was a strange feeling when I picked them up for the first time. Day 150 - 21/07/08 Missed my flight to Borneo this morning, doh!! Didn't wake up on time, slept through three alarms, must of been really tired. Woke up at 8am in a complete panic, my flight left 9.30am but KL airport is 65km from the city ...
