Every time the boat hit a swell or some wake we would come belly flopping ...

After talking to the workers at the dive shop, they said it was most likely the Proboscis monkeys that like to hang around that area. We would suggest you take a look for a picture of these ...

Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia frdrick... prove we made it, we started our descent, the clouds cleared, and the view, as you should see from the pictures, was amazing. Exhausted, cold, and slightly delirious from going so high, but both very happy to have made it, one of the most amazing things either of us has ever done. (Should add that neither of us could walk properly for a week afterwards...) Hope you enjoy the pic's, both sending our love home to you all! Next stop to the Philippines... Davey & Bex. xxx

Very close to Restaurant Indah, at the corner of Lg. Katamunsing and Jln. Kemajuan, is a parking lot that is used nightly by food vendors. They offer typical Borneo dishes, such as satays, fried noodles and rice, soups, etc. for very good prices (3.00 to 4.50 RM). We discovered this area on our first night in Kota Kinabalu ...
Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia aaronpolarbear... seafood every time. Neither of us to date has eaten the traditional roti (curry) for breakfast. Whilst the city wasn't anything to write home about (as long as this doesn't count as writing home) the people's friendliness was incredible. People lean out of passing car windows to shout "hello friend", school kids shout "hello. Good day" and ticket collectors sit next to you to talk about the Premiership with their hand on your leg. One on ...
Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia richandtim... sheltered, but again did not seem to be the place. We decided to go in anyway and test the water and snorkle gear, as well as use the water to bath our aching muscles. The sea was lovely and warm, and with not many people about, to get in your way we were soon in our eliment again, enjoying the views under the sea - not an amazing reef, but still quite interesting. After a while we took a break, and happened to see Bernie, coming over the rocks, past the end of the beach - The secret ...
Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia kevandrach... to be in a part of the jungle where there were so few people, and most of those I met were natives. The caves didn't so much as loom into view as suddenly appear, dominating my field of vision - cathedral proportions. At least a hundred meters high and extending back a couple of km, the view from the entrance was spectacular. Until recently, it was thought the worlds oldest homo-erectus skeleton had been found here, dating back 40,000 years; an ...
