I can't recall what we did on Monday the 7th, but Tuesday Brazil embarrassingly lost to Germany 1-7 so that was disappointing. We watched the game in the home of one of Jamille's friends. Oh I also had a pretty bad headache on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, July 9th I had plans to go to the beach again with Diego (Israel) but sadly his car would not start so I went home. I finally got to see my parent's store (there are pictures). Later, I went to Jota's and ...

It was a rough one to watch when Wondo missed the goal, and then it all went down hill. At the end of the game the Belgium group went insane as expected but one guy came over and said our guys played a respectable tournament. So we took a picture with him to mark the moment of our loss and his win. He was very nice guy who chose to not rub it ...

The tide would prevent them from getting through. They would have to turn back and take the long way home. So our driver is watching ...

... stadium. Seeing that this is more their home turf than the Italians, that was to be expected. Bruce, also hates the Italian team, because they are constantly diving and use cheat tactics. So he thought it would be funny to wear his Brazilian bathing suit and swim goggles, and that was it to the game. He had Timi write "Italian Diving Team" on his back. I couldn't believe he was going to do this. I begged him to at least bring clothes to cover himself ...

... South Africans are that scarce! We quickly firgured out we were from the same city and country and excitedly exchanged greetings, the boat trip was looking up. We spent the days just hanging out together and watching the river and jungle float by, exchanging stories and sharing laughs, looking out for river dolphins and dreaming of spotting the elusive puma. It was a very pleasant experience, the sunsets and sunrises were lovely and all too quickly it was over ...
