Day 1 - evening
After an uneventful flight, Michel and I landed in Cancun early in the evening. Our transfer was waiting for us with a "Sunwing Vacations" sign above his head! Couldn't miss him!

We had only planned one night and this seemed like a good move after walking through town in under 10 minutes and seeing not many people, shops, restaurants or bars. Certainly not what we expected, but we embraced the peace and quiet. It wasn't long until we were walking past a bar with anyone in it and got waved over. ... Luckily our jeep made it the whole way! So breaking the caravan...in the beginning of our trip, one of the tour guides told is that on the way back, our driver could just drop us off on the way back to headquarters since we were so close. So, on our way back, our driver started doing just that. Apparently, that was not supposed to happen as one of the guides flew down the main strip to figure out what was going on. ... waiter was a Mexican chap called Heehaw, who gave us free Margaritas and 'Shrimp Broth' to get us in. Either that or to make up for the fact he was sweating so profusely, and therefore probably into our food too. Had some Tacos, and a Fish Tostada, Was actually pretty damn good, except for a really sad looking Quesadillia, which was basically just a **** pancake with some mozarella in it.
