... up to the cargo. The best part: He paid them in beer. There were 17 bundles of steel bars, and they got a case of beer for each one they brought up. They managed to get 16 or them, and they shipped them off on a different ship each time. Cheapest salvage operation ever.

So, now this guy is retired, and he consults for shipping companies around the world. Really cool guy, I had a lot of fun.

De terugreis ging ook uitstekend, niet zoals ze het hier hebben verteld, allemaal op tijd. We werden opgehaald door mijn nicht Tientje en haar man Sin Chu. Wij werden verwacht in Kapasan, want ze hadden karé kepiting gemaakt, lekker wat een verrassing. Wij kregen ook een soort Hollands gerecht, het lijkt net als verscholen ei, met sla, wortel en boontjes, wel lekker, maar kon het niet allemaal op, wel de kepiting, och wat was dat lekker, eindelijk, ...

We left on a bus, and the first thing they did was start playing some old 70's Indonesian music...on Karaoke. Some older guy was singing, and not doing a good job. He was just sitting up front, watching the songs, singing along into the microphone all by himself. No one else ...

... dikker geworden, zijn blouse viel telkens open. Sexy vader hebben we toch van 84 jaar, ter ere van zijn verjaardag kreeg hij 2 blouses, 1 batik en 1 gewoon met streepjes en er werd voor hem gezongen. Hong San heeft een leuke vrouw, wilde echt alles weten over ons leven in Holland.
