We've arrived after our epic journey from Cairns via Brisbane & Auckland. We know that we're back in the northern hemisphere as it's cold and raining. We had to wait ages for our shared transfer to our hotel which a pain after so many hours travelling. The 2 hour drive was unremarkable as it was dark. Our hotel room is tiny - 3 beds in a row with about 6" between and no view - just obscured glass. We ventured out for ...

... it, she still takes a lot of pleasure from the act of flying itself and was keen to sing its virtues. Plus as she rightly pointed out, the train/ferry option to Japan would have left us little or no time in Japan itself, given our timescales. Fair point. First and foremost to remain positive and things will work out. At times you ...

... I am going to have to be a lot more organised regarding food shopping when I get back to Australia. lol

Whilst I thought the amount of pool training we do seemed a little bit excessive, it turns out that being able to execute the perfect duck-dive is handy when your chasing fish! haha. I'm yet to learn the names of any of the marine life I saw ('yellow fish!' 'blue fish!' 'yellow and blue fish!'), but after each session everyone sat down to discuss ...

... make up these names!) – we used to call it Lala Land – and went to the big grocery store for old times’ sake. Bought a few goodies that are difficult to find in Tokai. We then went looking for a wonderful French pastry shop and bistro we used to go to. It took awhile to find it, and then when we did, it wasn’t open. Sadly, they must have changed their hours. We had a pretty decent lunch at a chain place (Coco’s) and headed back to ...
