... It was pitiful but they made up for it with terminals connected to the Internet. After my private tour of the local points of pride and a briefing on the economic crises and its effect on the local population, I returned to my cousin’s café for dinner.

Adriatic Adventure 8-11-14 Loannina to Florina (Greece)
After another great nights stay in the wonderful and friendly Hotel AAR just south of Loannina I had breakfast and headed off north.
The road on the map looked quite straight and not very scenic and so I thought I would easily make the 400km or so into Macedonia and to the town of Debar on the border to Albania.
However I had got it all wrong and the journey today through Greece was simply mountain pass ...
In this northwestern corner of Greece, the roads approach to within a couple of kilometres of both Albania and the Macedonian Republic, but there is no access to either country. The point at which the three countries meet is in the middle of Lake Prespa Major. The area has the back-of-beyond feeling that always appeals to me.
