    Leaving Lochovo

    ... It was pitiful but they made up for it with terminals connected to the Internet. After my private tour of the local points of pride and a briefing on the economic crises and its effect on the local population, I returned to my cousin’s cafĂ© for dinner.

    I depart in the morning back to Thessaloniki by bus (12 Euros) where I’ll stay at the Tourist Hotel for one evening and leave for Athens in the morning by plane.

    ... out to be. Just like it has been the last 130km I now had some great magical passes ahead.

    As I climbed up this pass the temp began to drop and on went my gloves and then the heated grips. earlier it was a brilliant 20 Celsius and now it was down to a freezing 7 Celsius and there was even snow laying at the top of some passes.

    This one great pass must for sure be a tourist area in summer as there were quite a few picnic areas and viewpoints along the way, ...

    ... 8364;20 for an hour), which we accepted. Unless you are eager for a boat ride, you could save the money and just walk over the low hill to the abandoned Metamorphosis Hermitage, which we did anyway. There are a couple of longer (half-day) walks in this vicinity that would be good.

    ... public bit--but no wifi. The public area is well appointed, the wood harkening to a ski chalet. Certainly can't complain about the digs on the trip [though undoubtedly Ms Posh Nosh could]. I think she wants to go to the National Museum in Sofia to see if she can find a fossil that looks older than her; might be hard work.
