... ive learned like going to the rodoviara ( bus station) to by bus tickets rather through an agent or online will work out 20 aud cheaper etc. I have decided to cut the trip short though. travelling alone is expensive and ************* as i make friends, i say good bye to them in a few days... not having much.luck meeting people going my way. so ill be back on the 23rd of April! South of brazil is different

... and some things were getting obvious: porto alegre is not like the rest of brazil and gauchas are really nice! The poeple are much more calm compared to other brazilians, almost like europeans, so i felt almost like at home. And the german and italian influences are strong, poeple are really different here! The coffee and croissants are also really good, really italian.

So after my time in Bagé, I caught a bus to Porto Alegre, the states capital.
I stayed in the hostel for two nights...

So my first date with Brazil wasn't a home run, but there were enough things about it I liked that I would definitely ask for a second date!

To summarize:
- I was never able to take any money out from the ATMs while in Brazil so that was my first challenge (of course I did get Reals before I left but they were forgotten on the table at home)
