June 13, 2014 Day 28

Today was an extremely bitter
sweet day. We woke up slightly hung over and enjoyed a light breakfast before
heading to school for the last time. We took our usual route and arrived 10
mins early- as usual. Initially when we got to the classroom, I was slightly
frusterated still from the night before. But as I warmed up to people I

3. Architecture - we loved the beautiful builds of Madrid. Even the residential buildings were decorated with ornate looking designs or then by caricature by cartoonists. Although this is limited to the city centre. The pretty builds disappear quickly as you head into thesuburbs.

... then when we couldn't find it we went for dinner. We decided to go to a buffet restaurant. I actually felt like paella but I was content. It was strange because I mainly ate vegetables and fruit and a bit of meat. I guess it's good. I usually just eat a lot of meat with few veges. The case today was that "Las Meninas" by Velasquez was much, much larger than I had ori****lly thought, taking up almost the whole wall floor to ceiling about 10 feet high and 9 feet wide. All of the darker works by Goya were very powerful to see as well especially after learning some of the history of Spain during those times in a Spanish history class also taken last semester.
