... Berlin. It was a very uneventful trip apart from when we were stopped for an hour because of a suspected bomb at the next station! Leipzig is a fabulous city, spacious and elegant, and again we have seen no sign of half expected drabness. I had expected beautiful buildings, of which there are many, but I had no idea about all the ...

... Hartenfels Castle with a large spiral staircase in the courtyard built without a central support. The castle also has a chapel which was consecrated as the first Protestant church by Martin Luther. We walked the narrow cobbled streets to the Market square before going on to visit St Mary's church which is the burial place of Luther's wife, Katharina von Bora. ... as we made a dash on the bikes to the shop about 600m away. By the time we came out at 1:15pm the sky was again blue and the sun shining. This pattern repeated itself several times during the afternoon when we walked in to look at Torgau.

By the time we got to the Rathaus, about 45 mins walk, it was pouring with rain but 45mins later we visited the Hartenfels castle and had afternoon tea in the courtyard in ...

... today and the last 5km of dyke path to the ferry in a stiff breeze were hard work. We decided to pick up more water in Pretzch (we got there at 11:30) before going on to the campsite. Another nothing town in comparison to the Austrian places on the Inn and Danube. Whilst there the sky became overcast and rain threatened. We cycled the last 5km to the campsite, arriving at ...
