As usual, I want to do and see everything so I did my little schedule the night before with the map of NYC And the areas that must be seen for free. We started the day by the ferry to Staten Island in order to see the Liberty Statue. It looks smaller than in the movies but we were far from the park so I presume that it is more impressive from the …

Sunday began with a quick breakfast and a subway ride down to the 9/11 Museum and memorial. The area has changed markedly since Emma had last been there in 2003 and ground zero is now replaced by two waterfalls/fountains where the twin towers once stood. These are beautiful features with the names of the innocent victims carved into the sides of the memorial. It's is still upsetting to appreciate that nearly 3000 people lost their lives in the ...

... I missed a few punch lines (it's ok to use the word black as long as it's said with love - so they said in the musical). It was an interesting experience being in an audience with such a large proportion of black people, watching a show that must have had infinitely more meaning to them. We had a lovely meal afterwards at a nice little restaurant we found on the way back to our ...
