... being in the bath. Beautiful.

Back for showers and dinner. It actually rained here tonight for an hour or so but its fine again now and should be tomorrow too.

We have hired a car for tomorrow - finally a Jeep for Steph! We will take ourselves on a tour of the Island to the places we want to visit. Different tours would go to some places but not cover all the things we wanted to do in one tour so ...

Day 15 - San Francisco to Honolulu

... The city has such a fantastic vibe and its very own 'personality'. It is beautiful, in a very unusual way...Narrow houses built on hilly streets around unique neighbourhoods, each with their own little personality. I'll admit, today was one of those days that I had NO idea what it would be like.  On the schedule: a 7:30am flight from DC to Chicago, two hour layover, a nine hour flight to Honolulu, and then dinner and a surprise with the family.  Writing this so late in the evening, you probably already know what that surprise was, but I'll leave it till the end if you don't. Woke up around 5:15 at my friend Kevin's place in ...

... food was excellent, the view was spectacular! BTW - the name of the restaurant was The Chart House - a chain restaurant. I had no idea!

Another piece of information - in the beginning of my blog I noted that I thought the marina outside our window looked like the opening scene from Gilligan's Island. Turns out I was right!!! The waiters confirmed this and I also googled it.

Back in the hotel. Marty has passed out again!

... as the Bahamas, but you take what you can get. I was soaking up the sun, ever aware that in a few days we would be in winter time. I didn't even put sun cream on the kids because our plan was to spend half an hour at the most. But it was quickly 12pm!! We returned to our hotel, only to find the cleaner was about to clean our room. So we went to level 4 to have a swim in the pool. The cleaner took forever, and wasn't done until 1:30pm. We had ...
