... visited the Gingerbread Museum which is in the basement of a cafe that sells gingerbread. The bakery has been in operation for over 500 years (it shut down for about 100 years in the 1700's).

The ladies who make the gingerbread were delightful, showed us the equipment and how the gingerbread is made, and one of them had distant relatives who live in Vancouver. She asked if we knew them, and we had to explain that Vancouver has more people than the ...

Before arriving in Slovenia, the only place we knew we wanted to visit for sure was Lake Bled. Seeing pictures and reading about other travellers' experiences led us to this decision. So after just a short bus ride from Ljubljana, we arrived in Bled, a town that describes itself as being like a fairytale, and it truly is. This was nevertheless a great spot for lunch, with great views of the massive, snow-covered alps. Realising I had little time to get to ...

This morning we awoke about 9am after a really good, long sleep. It was needed after a huge day yesterday. As with all of the days on this long adventure today was going to be packed full of sightseeing, eating, touring and drinking. We prepared ourselves with a cereal breakfast and juice before making our way to the hostels large van. The awesome owner of the hostel was taking us to Vintgar Gorge. This gorge is a 1.6km gorge that stretches from the ...

... by. The river had a walking path alongside with multiple bridge crossings and deciduous trees that stood in shades of green, pale yellow and amber as they prepare to fall for the autumn.

We walked the path down to a small damn that created a waterfall that had an old stone bridge archeing its way high over the river below. We continued our walk until we reached the Vintgar Falls. There was a large wooden bridge that stretched across the top of the natural falls that cascade ...
