... pulling out onto the pan central american highway in his van.. with his mom in the front seat. Guess they really take drunk driving seriously here, or they just like to get started early.

Also just a little tid bit for you all.. I did my first load of laundry today. Consisted of me scrubbing my clothes on a stone wash tablet... Im going to smell like something fierce after six months of this, so dont say I didnt warn you.

Grenada, Grenada paulatluxury... were on the top deck (of which we ended up on because it was so jam packed..). So we think, Ok, the free Rum Punch might make this liveable, right? Nooooo, it was like some crazy sour Rum drink that wasn't even drinkable. So by the time we get to Morne Rouge, we already know we're not taking that think back...Not my style. So we investigated a cab. It was $18 back into St. George. We ...
Grenada, Grenada audaciousred... their cars, the driver on the right side. The roads are quite narrowed and houses, often built right next to the roads. The living conditions looked pififul, but the people looked proud and happy.

We enjoyed the narrated drive through the picturesque capital of St. George's on our way to our first stop. From my seat, it was quite scary at times seeing the cliffs next to me. One bad move by the driver, and we ...
Grenada, Grenada momentsintime...
St. Georges, Grenada alainbobThursday Rest Day Took a trip right around the island with a local driver who we struggled to understand but who tried to be informative. He was quite passionate in his descriptions of life in and around the time of the 1983 military coup and US invasion of Grenada. The events had had a marked impact on him during impressionable years and his father had been wounded in some of the gunfire so his descriptions were quite intense and passionate. The trip around the Island took in the ...
Grenada, Grenada robliz... or stay in san fran for 1 more day. The beauty of it is, american flights are really cheap, and i will be saving money on accommodation (which costs a fortune out here in grenada). America in general will be soo much cheaper. So i think its an ingenious plan, but will need to wait and see if it works, it will be an adventure at least, and im really looking forward to seeing more of america, rather than just NYC. May even go via the grand canyon on the way! So thats pretty much all ...
Grand Anse, Grenada beef_jerkey... of rock. And the fish, every colour u can imagine, really vivid colours, and swimming through the shoals of tiny fish was cool. I saw quite a few long skinny fish, looked almost like pencils, with a snout. Cant remember what they were called, anyone? Moving along the coastline, after i had become a bit more confident and didnt feel the need to tag along to the others, i was quite lucky coz i saw a group of brown squid. There was about 10 of them in a line just ...

Then today was the hospital, but this afternoon we are heading over to the rum factory (as all medical students should, just to improve international relations etc). So that should be good. Only problem is im driving! Damnit!!!! Dont think there are any drink driving laws here, but the way they drive anyway, id like to be sober! So will report back when theres more to say, AJG
Lance Aux Epines, Grenada beef_jerkey... get to our room #226. Things we enjoyed about Grenada: Rum Punches: rum, a little syrup, dash of bitters, lime juice and a sprinkling of nutmeg. Mini-Buses: $1.50 got you a ride to town on a mini-bus. They operate with a driver and a conductor (who collects and ushers people in/out). A toot of the horn means the bus has room for you. 3 knocks on the bus frame means you want out. Fast. Good breezes. Soundtrack of reggae. 10 minutes to town. Everyone ...
