Weekend trip to Los Cabos

We went for a weekend trip to see Los Cabos. Now if you are anything like me then this will mean nothing to you. But Los Cabos and in particular Cabo San Lucas are play grounds for the rich and famous and those who like to party, but have the money to do so! I really did not know what we were going to see, but was open minded about the whole thing. We had already decided to stay in San Jose as ...

Ensenada Day Trip

Yippee! Friends are in town! Or are they?! We were advised via email that our friends Carolyn and Jouni were stopping into port at Ensenada as part of their cruise and were extremely excited to see faces from home (well...Edmonton, but we were happy nonetheless). We had made arrangements to meet them at the port at 9am and in true mikeandger fashion, we were half an hour late arriving. Not to mention the boat ...

La Bufadora

... s blowhole and the noise that is created is the cries of the whale. Fact or fiction?...you decide. La Bufadora is now a frequented destination of many travelers. We made it there during the week when the crowds were low. The weekends can get pretty crazy. There is a beautiful wooden arch marking the entry to La Bufadora which is a long cobble-stone walk that meanders past numerous market-style tents. Vendors are peddling ...

Successful Border Crossing at Mexicali

... who owned some land in the area and needed cash. Once they visited her, they found she also had a deaf child that she had taken in (saved) from the streets of Tiajuana. She agreed to sell them 500 acres in the valley for a $50 deposit. Once the deal was struck, the couple left and the wife exclaimed to Lucas "Where are we gonna get $50?" On the way home they went by the post office to pick up mail and there was a check for $50 ...

Cooking up a storm in Mexico

... Sauzel - is the cleanest and "homeliest" place I have seen on my travels. For company you get the two grey cats and two dogs, blanco ( white ) and negro ( black ). Maria took me to all her favourite food stands on the street where we stuffed ourselves with Tamales and Tortillas one night. Tamales are made from cornflour or mealie meal. You put some meat or chicken stew in the middle of the flour that has been flavoured with stock. Wrap it in a ...

Ensenada and Off!

So today we drove down to Ensenada, boarded the ship and sailed away! The trip over was actually pretty fun cause most of the people on my shuttle were from the valley, awkwardly enough. Sorta weird I guess...I can't seem to escape! On the drive over in Mexico I saw some intense looking dirt bike races going on over some crazy sand dunes. Also different from at home was check points along the main road about every 10-15 ...

Border Line Blues

... Beside the highway, the line-up for pedestrians crossing into the States runs into several city blocks, and today takes over half an hour to file through. For a dollar a bus takes people to the head of the line, to join the queue in a fraction of the time, like first-class passengers in a plodding mass of suspect humanity. A sign above the immigration lines, one of many, warns that "Your actions and conversations are being recorded on ...

aloh, my first time in mexico

We stayed in good all ensenada of baja california in Mexico. went right through the border like a breeze. Very interesting, looked poverty stricken, later talked with some people who said how, they make their homes look awesome from the inside out. Looking at the outside might look like nothing, but the inside is full of beautifull tiles and such.

... tv/splash/cl_win ners.htm Then the shooters... In Mexico you don't just take a shot - the shot takes you. The waiter forces the shot down then shakes your head followed by flipping your legs over your head... And the ladies well that's even worse. Greg had a list of 10 things he had to accomplish for the batchelor party that he readily worked through... The rest of us drank away and enjoyed the chaos.

Back to civilization

We went on a very bumpy ride to Ensenada. When we got there we visited a winery, and Mum and Dad tasted some wine. After that we took a bus back to America, Los Angeles. Raymond's Travel Page
