Viva Las Vegas... We get our kicks from route 66

We have left LA with a sad heart we had planned to stay there a good number of weeks. We give LA - 6 out of 10 - there's lots to do, but if you want to go, book a package holiday or stay in the hotel area it's much nicer and you get to visit the ****** areas if you want to. Muscle beach is a section with weights were you can watch muscle men …

Dave and I went to Vegas again this year to go to the same convention we went to the previous year, except this year was with the sole purpose of partying, not working. We were there 6 days and 5 nights and had a blast every one of them. We did a little of the "tourist" thing (walkin around and lookin at stuff), but we spent most of our time either …

Woken up by housekeeping at 8am after forgetting to put the Do Not Disturb on the door, they are eager here. After a quick shower I went to the Information Centre to get a coffee and update my Facebook status along with the blog. After a spot of breakfast with the rest of the guys, we then stopped at Mather Point to get …

Married in Vegas

Yes we did it. We got married in Vegas. We didn't tell anyone and flew from Albuquerque to Las Vegas to get married. First stop, the court house to apply for a marriage license. Well that was quick and easy. After, I changed into my simple wedding dress (short is the new in) and Shane into his khakis and white blouse (yes we planned it) and our …

Driving to Vegas

Today we had a very long day driving to Las Vegas. There was much breathtaking scenery on the way out of Yosemite including the particularly beautiful Tenaya Lake. Once away from Yosemite we travelled across some amazingly desolate country on long windy roads, up and down mountains in the desert. We stopped at a little diner in Benton Hot Springs …

    Great staff of people

    from anonymous

We feel that the Tropicana has a great staff of Slot Hosts and the hospitality we receive will keep us coming back. Their comps' are very much in line with your level of play. Great place!

    Never again!!!!!!

    from mello1956

We have stayed at the Trop 4 times. Until this trip we really had no complaints but this trip will be our last. We are gold card members and our rooms and meals are comped but I will pay to stay somewhere else. Drink service was horrible! Not that I am a big drinker but I could not even get a second beer in 3 hours. I made the choice to buy a beer. I got ripped off bigtime. I gave the guy a $20 and got a dollar back. He said I gave him a $5. No arguing... he got his way. Then next day after being there and gambling for a day and half. We were told we had to play MAX bet in order to drink for free!!!! We tip a dollar a beer mind you also. We went to management about this and our slot hostess and they never heard of it. But in the end they did research the rule and found it to be true. TROP has a rule that you must play max bet to get free drinks. Mind you not all servers abide by it but we got some that did. Right before we were checking out we had a male housekeeper walk in our room without knocking! I was in my bra and underwear at the time! Not only did he scare me half to death I was very embarresed. He did not even apologize. He said.. You are checking out today right? We will NEVER stay there again, I don't care how many comps they give me.

    Good value, great people

    from anonymous

My family goes to Las Vegas twice a year and we always stay at the Tropicana. The people are so nice. There are two dealers in particular you should look up. Joe and Ann (both on night shift) are the sweetest people in the world. The rooms are OK but considering the age of the hotel, it's expected. Comps are good and the pit bosses are nice as well. The Trop is a good value for the money.

    Where not to stay

    from anonymous

Housekeeping was very good, the valet service was very rude and they were disrespectful to say the least. The service on the casino floor left much to be desired especially if you got any.The buffet was never open, the nice fancy expensive japanese restuarent was the worst we have ever had,we were completely ignored by the waitress,we shall never go back there again.

    Loved it

beautiful place and i liked all the people

    Underrated Hotel -- Great Location!

    from anonymous

We like the Tropicana for 1. location and 2. price. We stayed 3 nights for $100 total! And you can't beat the location -- right near MGM and New York, etc. We never stay much in the rooms, anyway -- so this is a good deal. It's not the fanciest hotel on the Strip, but it is decent. The prices are great and the location is awesome!

    Nice for the price

    from anonymous

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights in May, 2002. When we arrived, we upgraded to a Tower room for $10 a night. We thought it was very nice, especially considering the price. Our room was very clean and spacious. It's in a great location (right on the strip). We only had one meal (lunch) at the hotel since we had a short trip. They gave us some coupons when we arrived for a buy one get one free at one of the restaurants. We thought the food was pretty good. I would definitely recommend this place.

    Not bad for the price

    from anonymous

For a summer weekend stay at the Tropicana, I paid $129.99 for a friday night and 109.99 for a Saturday night. Although it is an older hotel, the rooms were spacious and clean. The pool was a little crowded, but overall, very nice. The best part was the location: at the corner near New York-New York, Excalibur, and MGM. From the MGM, you can catch the tram to Bally's and make your way up the strip from there.

Our stay could of been better

    from anonymous

our rooms were nice but some of the help was not as friendly and nice as they could of been. some were rude. also we had a problem with some customers stalking us after my sister won some money. we had a hard time confincing the staff this was happening.then we had some nice security people help us. we just had a bad experience in las vegas.

    Tacked on fee

    from anonymous

One night room fee $39.00 per night. When we arrived at check-in and additional $4.00 was required for phone and something else. This was very irritating to me. We did not have much of a choice at the time, being tired and late after arriving by air. For the $4.00 "extra charge" and the way it was presented I would have stayed elswhere. I would have gone away with a much better feeling if the fee was just advertized as $43.00 per night. Or asked if I wanted the phone for a buck. I will not stay at the Tropicana again.
