... steak well done because I was unsure if they would make it too raw and to my surprise it was by far the best steak I have ever had. There was no pink at all yet it was moist and tender like a rare steak. If I had one complaint it would be the use of whole anchovies on their Caesar salad. Today was spent on the resort, not the beach, just in and around the resort grounds. We took the time to walk the grounds some more and see the wildlife up a little closer. There are quite a variety of birds living on the grounds. The ones we recognize are peacocks, pigeons, geese, flamingos and cranes. There are several species that we do not recognize as well. ... beloved wasn't meant to live on an island and we were both shaken.

It didn't stop us from enjoying ourselves (although the hummingbird-sized cockroach by our cottage door almost did), but reminded me that it's best to take it slow with a travel-newbie. One day we'll laugh about Dave puking in the turtle pond, thus giving the little snappers the buffet of a lifetime, but even now (March 2015) it's a sore subject. On our next adventure together, we'll be better prepared.

Well the hot water is fixed so managed a lovely bubble bath last night before dinner. We ate at a buffet restaurant at the sister hotel which adjoins ours and has all the entertainment, shops and other restaurants. The entertainment was like something we'd spy in an Eastbourne hotel lobby and in Jase's words 'the reason package holidays should be abolished'.
