    ... fabulous and free swimming lagoon which was much busier than others we used on our journey from Cairns to Brisbane. We are back in an area where the sea water disappears with the tide and there are an abundance of very nasty jelly fish. We believe we will be provided with special "sting" prevention clothing to wear tomorrow for diving and snorkelling.     ... No hesitation! He even did it twice! The water was ice cold and it was such a great height the lads arms were red raw from smashing the water! There was a slight incident on this little outing...we all seemed to need the toilet desperately with no facilities but a jungle and some leaves! Let's just say we made the most of what we had and were just hoping we hadn't used the deadly Poisonous Gimpy Gimpy leaves that Jimmy had taught us ...

    After the best 48 hours of our lives we were finally in Cairns, we have mixed emotions about the city- bit dead but we came to do the Reef. First on our agenda was food so we went mad on some pasta for 65 cent and some bran for $3, breaking the bank. We also purchased some bananas as a treat but somebody ever so rudely stole them from the hostel, bloody liberty! The hostel is adequate, no 5 star but will do. Today we hit the Great barrier ...
