      ... muddy shoreline. We were walking on a boardwalk that had pilings hand driven over 25 feet into the mud to stabilize the boardwalk. A large grove of mangroves provides great potection against tidal surges during typhoons. Unfortunately a number of towns have trucked in millions of tons of sand to cover the mud and produce a swimming beach.       ... of fish of all shapes and sizes. After an hour we move to another location on the same reef. There are turtles here cos we saw one when up on the deck but alas did him when we were snorkelling. A little deeper here but rougher with bigger rollers coming through so hard work. We named our lifeguard "Boris" after the mayor of London, he looks, sounds, and acts like a young Boris Johnston! After lunch we move to a third location where it's much deeper, down to ...
