... is niet gevaarlijk daar. Deze favella is de grootste van Rio met 160.000 inwoners en heeft gewone wegen en er rijden ook bussen doorheen.

Als je voor het eerst in zo´n favella aankomt weet je niet zo goed wat je kunt verwachten.Wordt je met grote armoede geconfronteerd of lijkt het allemaal wel mee te vallen? Is de criminaliteit echt zo groot? Niet in deze favella. deze gemeenschap leeft samen en er wordt niet gestolen. ...

... show the better, or so it seems! We watched a few volleyfoot games and football matches on our way and it´s easy to see why Brazil is so good at the sport, they love it!
After trying more brazillian food, seeing more flesh than I would like and enjoying a little too much sun, we completed the trek and decided to enjoy the sunset again on Botafogo beach. We chilled out a little and then packed up our box, ready to move on to Ila Grande the next day...a true paradise....

... to move from the seats, the food was so nice, fresh cooked meat, like fillet Mignon, steak, chicken, chicken hearts, everything you could want and then a whole selection of salads and veggies, all this and a bottle of wine cost us about AUS$40 for both of us.

Unfortunately tomorrow we leave so not too much will be happening but we will be heading to Cuzco, via Chile and Lima and we fly all night arriving at about 6 in the morning. So will probably ...

... in Rio, with Ipanema catering for the most beautiful, and Copacabana the most fit. After that you get Leblon, and so on down to numbers 6 or 7 which are for the grossly obese, and social misfits. So you can get a decent perspective number 12 is called the Jimmy Shields beach. I felt very comfortable on Ipanema.
