... into Turkey up to Istanbul. So I wasn't quite up to speed like I normally would be, relying more on Old Mate's planning. For a brief second I had a feeling of anxiety about what to do for tomorrow and the next 5 days. We always enjoy the days when the ship is in port, because the decks are empty! We know that Bodrum is a beautiful beach town, but we have been to so many fabulous beaches, we decided to skip it. I know that we will be back to Turkey, so we will have another opportunity to visit both Bodrum and Kusadasi.

... but alas the road to Bodrum beckons. Closer to Bodrum and touristville has become millionairesville with views to match. Near the waterfront a crush of people file along streets where classy meets crass and you can't see the ocean for yachts. We settle into our hotel after yet another small lost episode and soon after take our chances among the mill on the esplanade. The markets here boast generally higher quality goods despite an abundance ...
