The games appeared to be a mini Olympics between Portuguese colonies (Goa has Portuguese ancestry) which India did very well in. The scrabble championship stands at 4-3 in my favour, much to my delight and Alex's disgust. Having never before scored a 7 letter word, I managed two in one game. Of course I was smug. ... lights and balloons dominated by an 8 foot high wedding cake. We were looking forward to seeing a full on Hindu wedding party with all the beauty of the dress but the family are catholic so it was the usual white and somber suits, very few sari's amongst the guests. We got quite excited about the thought of some real Bollywood style entertainment and it started well with traditional Indian music with sitar players ...

    ... to Old Goa.

Old Goa used to be the heart of Portuguese India. Now, it is nothing but three large churches that are in urgent need of restoration. There are a few stores at the main road but nothing else. There were a few groups of Russian tourists that we tailgated and listened to their guide. Sasha was "undercover", as Dasha joked.

The museum was very informative. Sasha learned quite a bit about the 450 years of Portuguese rule in Goa. ...
