    ... It wasn't the greatest beach. No helped by all the beach huts some in a state of disrepair along our stretch. Not many people around as it's low season. No cafés or restaurants along the beach either which was also disappointing. There were a few restaurants in town one of which we returned to a few times. The first time we went Tom ordered one of the best curries we've ever had. So much so we went back again so that I could have it too! They sold beer and lots of western food so ...

    ... train wasn't until 5.15 so we had a 3 hour wait in Kulem. There was really not a lot to do there so we got an ice cream and then sat in the cafe where we had breakfast and got something to eat and drank lots of fresh lime sodas and chai whilst watching strange Indian films on a tiny telly in the corner (and then bizarrely Twilight).     ... getting bored. More of a backpacker's haunt, the beach is strewn with shacks, shops, yoga and aurevedic haunts. It has a great chilled out vibe and off shore there are several uninhabited islands that you can take a boat to, which is exactly what we did.
