Packed up and left for the coast. Found a nice park space in Runaway Bay. Had lunch and got the bikes ready for a cycle. While we were getting ready we were interviewed by a journalist for the local paper about our journey to Runaway Bay and our current life values. We cycled 20km mainly along bicycle track along the coast esplanade ...

We turned left (guessing this was a short-cut), and found ourselves climbing through a beautiful forest (Springbrook Mountain, as it turns out) on a very narrow road with quite steep cliffs on either side. ... was by far the best way to consume Vegemite. I will try that at home with all my other Australian treats I am bringing home for my family to sample.

Next stop was Currumbin Beach just a bit south of us. It has been listed as one of the best places to learn to surf in the world. I can see why as it is easy to walk out into the surf and the waves are abundant. We showed up just on time for our ...

... had a bottle of wine, nice and relaxed evening before a 9 and a half hour drive down the coast the following day! Up bright and early, we headed south for the small town of Port Stephens. After a couple of stops and being caught by the police for speeding (a nice $250 fine!) we arrived around 6pm. Pretty exhausted from the driving we went out for a bite to eat and a few drinks. Back to the hotel which had a bar, karaoke night. So we planted ourselves down and ...
