Arrived on site at about 3:30pm after a really pleasant drive through the countryside, we actually crisis crossed motorways we could have used but why bother when we can go at the same speed and not pay tolls! The site is mostly closed down for the winter with a small number of pitches in use, most of them are full at the moment with transitees like us, although we are the only Brits, most are Dutch heading South.

After a long and tiring journey we arrived at our campsite. Weather is lovely so went for an uphill walk in the evening. Just enjoying a beer in the bar now. After about an hour of singing and playing I needed a drink and after a last song people started ...

A travel blog entry by dutchnomad on Apr 14, 2015

I promised the farmer that I'll be gone at eight o'clock. So I break up early. I'm desperate need of a toilet so I knock on the door and ask if I can use the toilet. That's no problem. I also get a nice cup of coffee and some cake. Communication is hard but they tell me I was heading the wrong way. Luckily not far but I need to turn around. Tramping is not working today. I'm walking in ...

... is interesting. It's always in French, of course. The first one I listened to was accompanied by the echo of a simultaneous interpreter. This was the minister's wife, interpreting into English. Today, the entire sermon was an interpretation from English into French. The interpreting and translation work between French and English is done by women, since there are two sisters who run the entire show. So, today's sermon was a woman's voice speaking on behalf of a man. It was ...
