... it was monday, and of course museums are closed. a major storm also came in and the scaffolding in front of a construction site that i had just walked past was now blown over and flapping in the wind. lucky me for narrowly escaping death!

for the most part, the old historic part of town was pretty dead as it is the end of tourist season, but i was able to check out the harbour, Hadrian's gate, and a few other sites.

Lucrarile au inceput acum… 15 ani. Aeroportul deserveste peste 45 de destinatii iar soseaua expres, functionala de altfel, este inca in extindere.

Stau sa ma gandesc cand a inceput demolarea turismului romanesc pe litoral… parca acum 15 ani.

... fast alpinen Gebirgszug des Taurus. Will man die Altstadt von Alanya besichtigen, kann man am Hochufer, in der Nähe des Atatürk Denkmals die moderne Tiefgarage nutzen. Die hübsche Innenstadt, rings um den uralten kleinen Hafen bietet einen schönen Kontrast zum überwiegend modernen großflächigen Antalya ringsherum. Im Süden der Altstadt finden sich viele kleine Pensionen wo man für ca. 30 Euro sehr nett übernachten kann.

Apparently Antalya is a bit too large since our driver got majorly lost and had to ask for directions 3 or 4 times before we eventually found our destination, the old harbor. Since our tour guide speaks only English and our driver speaks only Turkish we have had several miscommunications/confrontations. The driver gets easily flustered when he is lost ...
