Another Breathing Lesson

... them directly. For those who know me, this small hic-cup can become a major constriction of the air passages (i.e. lump in my throat or a lump in my oatmeal).

The time allotted between planes was less than 90 minutes. We already knew where Delta was landing (terminal) and exactly the terminal Korean Air utilized but...how long would it take to acquire boarding passes (especially when ...

We Finally Made It To Our First Hotel!!

After a very very long drive, we finally made it to our first Hotel in Twin City Georgia just right outside of Valdosta at 4:00 AM Eastern Time. Our GPS system told us that we would arrive at 4:03 and we pulled in the parking lot at exactly 4:03. The kids did really good in the car, we were very thankful for that. We stopped and ate Cracker Barrell in Kentucky. We ate with the flies in the restaurant and they were driving everybody ...

The Long Drive Away

... close the door to our home. There were people to see, hugs to give and a few "See ya later" tears to cry. On May 11, 2009, less than a month after we were married, I set off in my little red car to join my new husband in our new vagabond life. The drive was really not as bad as i had anticipated. I sang, I looked, and just enjoyed the scenery from the road. 10 hours later I excitedly pulled into The Regency Hotel. I was so ...

Day 120 - Greed

... US 1 we stopped briefly to have lunch in Baxley and then a little further still, turned off onto the 56 towards Reidsville where we found Gordonia-Alatamaha S.P. much easier than we had expected. It's a really nice site but there's ************e here. The camp host told us that the weekends in April were busier than they have been in September. It seems the economic climate is starting to have a wider-reaching effect than just home foreclosures (repossessions). The big ...

Well, fiddle-dee-dee....

... of tea. There was also a fella with silver hair and glasses who was walking around the newsroom with a small notebook collecting $2 for something or other. There was also a bald, slightly overweight bloke, swearing a lot and twanging what looked like a ruler on his desk. He, too, seemed to be drinking too much tea. Odd really how newsrooms seem to be the same the world over. Once the tour was over, we spent another half an hour walking around ...

... down there!" before they drunkly disappeared to catch the subway at half one in the morning :-) I must admit the people were not dangerous but they were definitely Rednecks and proud of it. There is a current hit down there, which is their equivalent of "The Fields Of Athenry" called "I am a redneck woman".When it comes on, whole bars start whoopin and hollerin, folks start doing the two step and wimmin get misty eyed when ...

Destination: Savannah, Georgia

... see. There aren't a lot of people who could or would take off and drive around the country for four months, so we've created and will build this web site to provide a virtual tour for those of you who wish you could do something like this...or those of you who are just curious. Heading Southeast toward Savannah Georgia

We managed to get lost two additional times today. It appears that one of the great challenges of driving around the country on two-lane roads will be FINDING the darned roads. Highway 8 to Dacula (that's Dracula without the R) just isn't marked clearly. We may need that GPS system that Uncle Ward told us to take. We took a number ...
