... were a few workers-people dressed in period costumes-but there wasn't much to see or do. We did get some ice cream and sasparilla! Then we swam at the hotel, ordered pizza and slept from 8pm-6am! ... might have been momma bear or big brother bear not sure, but it's coat was dark black. The younger golden bear jumped had ran 10 steps when it saw me an then looked back at black coat to see what it would do. Slowly the bears went around the ledge I was on and climbed up the rocks to where ever they must call home. It was my first bear of the trip and I was excited. ... can camp and be warm because you're IN Cali .. you'll still be cold, so bring a jacket.
Quiet time at camp was until 8 am, but Curtis and I began packing up around 7:30 and hit the road by 8 in search of a caffeine goddess, aka - starbucks. Now we sit, warm beverages in hand, sunshine at our back, in Fort Bragg and ready to make the short drive down to San Fran! Adios amigos - until tomorrow !

... not for the faint hearted. Paul walked down with Sebastian, whilst Gretchen held onto Ewan. Both boys walked down very well but we can't tell you a single thing about the trip down other than the very sweaty hands that develop. Once at the bottom, the immensity of the cave becomes clear. You toast marshmallows on a fire pit (this would have been plenty enough for us) then put them in between 'graham crackers' (like digestives to you and me), add some chocolate and then squish it all together, very yummy!
