Day 2 Heathrow to Las Vegas
0700, up and showered. The hotel deal is Room Only and the BA Lounge in Terminal 5 serves up some great bacon rolls for breakfast so no £15 each breakfasts for us. We checked out at 0730 and walked back along Bath Road to the bus stop we got off at last night. Today's free public bus is the 423 that takes 7 minutes to round get to Terminal 5. We …

Really enjoyed the service and the room. Room had a huge in room safe to put all of our valuables. It had a fridge, so we could stock up on water (a really big need for the hot days). Only drawback - not really mid Strip anymore because there isn't too many open hotels north of this one - but this was no big issue for us.

TI has a nice pool , nice rooms and the casino has a decent vibe. But when you are in Las Vegas decent isn't that grand really. There are places that are just as nice that are cheaper, and there are places that are WOW if you have the $$. We got a good deal which is why we stayed, but I don't think I would go back to TI - when there are so many other options to try.

Historical Traveler Reviews Treasure Island - TI Hotel & Casino Las Vegas
Had a Very Positive experience at Treasure Island
We were suppose to depart from a wonderful 5 day vacation on my wifes birthday on Sept. 11, 2001. After watching CNN that morning and realizing what our country was facing, wer were stranded there for an additional 4 days. What a neat place to be stranded! Well to make a long story short we are returning for 4 nights starting Dec. 1, 2002 and bringing another couple with us. We have stayed at several other places in Las Vegas, however Treasure Island is the only place we would ever stay. Excellent accomodations, great atmosphere, excellent staff, etc. etc.
Looking forward to our return.

We love it
My wife and I go to LV twice a year for some years now. We always stay in the Treasure Island. The rooms are large and clean. All the staff are friendly and helpful. I read some of the "negative" reviews and I do not understand how the same hotel can provide such different experience. We would and do recommend Treasure Island to all our friends. In fact, we will be there in the first week of December and I bet we will have a great time again.
Loved Treasure Island
We stayed at Treasure Island in March 2002. We found the staff at the hotel very helpful. Rooms were kept very clean and we really enjoyed the restuarants on site.
Great treasure
I got a great winter get- away deal. The rooms were wonderful and clean. The bed was the best hotel bed i've stayed in. I didn't want to get out even in my favorite place to be (Las Vegas). I didn't care for the slot machine action. It was pretty dead.
Bad rooms and service
I've been to Las Vegas twice and going again in November. The first time I stayed at Luxor and it was great. For the 4th of July this year we came again and decided to stay at Treasure Island. The hotel is nice and the layout isn't confusing like Luxor's is. But when we went to our room it wasn't even cleaned yet. We kept telling them that it wasn't clean and they said that the maids will come and clean it in 20 minutes, but they didn't show up until after an hour. Also that wasn't the only thing, the bathroom lock was broken off and missing. They forgot to take the towels that have been used by the other people who was in that room, remote to the tv wouldn't work so we had to get up to change channels and volume and one of the lamps weren't working. The food there is ok though. The best thing there was the show Msytere. It was great I loved it. The pool was ridulously small for the hotel size and very crowded.
Just Got Back-Loved Treasure Island
We just spent four nights at TI and absolutely loved it. All of the people that we were in contact with were outstanding...the Casino Host, the Check-in people at the front desk, the Housekeeping people, the Casino Personnel, everyone.
We had NO negative experiences with anyone or anything at TI. We will definitely stay there again for our next trip.
Poor Guest Services
It was interesting to read the previous review of Treasure Island. I retruned from a stay at Treasure Island on June 10, 2002. I had an almost identical experience as teh previous review. Although the majority of staff were acceptable, the staff at the Spa were uninformed, rude and generally didn't care about the guests. The staff needs to understand that if a problem can't be solved at their responsibilty level, management needs to be contacted. When I politely asked to speak to the manager on duty at the Spa I was given one more excuse. Finally a staff member did talk to their manager, determined I was correct from the very start and apologized profusing. (The staff blamed management for not telling them, although I showed them the information in writing). Unfortunately the damage had been done. The over riding attitude of the employees were basicly they could care less about the guests. It may be rated a four star from a quality standpoint, but the guest service, primarily the Spa, is a one star. I stayed at several other competing hotels during my stay and was pleasantly surprised, that all my expections were expeeded. At the Hilton and Tropicana I felt that the staff really appreciated their guests and you can be assurred I will be returning to those hotels. I would never again stay at Treasure island. Interesting, when I returned to my office the following week, I was asked by our convention coordinator about possible locations in LV. Treasurey Island will NOT be on our list.
Treasure Island Service below acceptable
I stayed at the Treasure Island Hotel in early May 2002. I was surprised at the lack of courtesy and the attitude of the staff at the front desk, the convenience store, cashiers, car rental desk attendant and the general bad attitude I encountered throughout the hotel.
Normally this type of attitude reflects a management problem, so.......
I took the tram next door (to their sister hotel)The Mirage, where I spent my time, and money!!!!The service and attitude there was fantastic. Warm, welcoming, helpful and friendly. Quite a contrast. (next time, I will stay at the Mirage ..almost anywhere but TI!)
I frequented many other hotels during my stay and did not find this attitude anywhere else.
Great rooms, pity about check in
We stayed at Treasure Island 5/22 - 5/25 for the first time. After travelling for close to 24 hours from Australia, check in was an absolute shambles. We queued in line for 55 minutes before someone finally served us. Once we got to our room though, it was very impressive. Good size, very comfortable king bed, and the bathroom (shower/bath combo) was very soothing! Housekeeping were very efficient, every time we went out they seemed to have been to the room to clean or provide towels etc. The restaurants/buffet at Treasure Island were a little pricey..we chose to walk to Excalibur and Surf Buffet for some of our meals. There is also a convenience store directly across the road for sodas etc. A big plus for me (I like shopping) is that the Fashion Show Mall is directly next door, and it is undergoing a multi million dollar refurbishment which will be completed in 2003. Even still, Macy's had a up to 80% off sale on, its worth checking it out. We would go back to Treasure Island again :)
Worth a look
My wife and I stayed at Treasure Island 4 days in early February 2002. Checkin was fairly easy and the people friendly. The room was fairly comfortable but could use updating. The food was better than expected. The pool was out of order due to remodeling.
We spent most of our gambling time at the blackjack tables where we found very friendly dealers. Even while learning a new game, 3 card poker, the dealer was friendly and helpful. The casino was not over crowded on the weekend but there were a lot of people.
This was only our second visit to Las Vegas and we would like to come back again. Even though we enjoyed Treasure Island we will still shop for a good deal at one of the major strip casinos next time around.
