We only have one full day in Bonifacio, arriving late yesterday afternoon, and leaving tomorrow morning for a couple of days in the northern mountains of Corsica. So today had to be the day we experienced as much as we could. We had checked out boat tours (no name tags, no numbered stickers on our shirts!!) to get have a look at Bonifacio from the water. There are a multitude of tours to pick from, some all-dayer's ...

... spectacular. It's limestone cliffs rise from the sea and it too has a pretty special harbour entrance at Bonifacio where the ferry berths. It was probably only 10 metres from the water!!! From lunch we drove on to explore a little more - headed up ...

... close by at a place called Arzachena. We had both wanted to visit these sites as they date from the Bronze Age and are in remarkably good shape. What we saw was a Nuraghic burial tomb and a village. The stone "house' is amazing, how they managed this is impressive. It surprises me that we are able to walk through the area and even go into the circular stone house. From there onto another coastal town for ...

... ferry was a very comfortable way to spend 6 and half hours travelling down the Mediterranean from mainland Italy to Sardinia. Huge big lounge areas, bars, restaurants, a stage and a grand piano. We're at the end of the tourist season here so the ferry was pretty quiet, plenty of room to spread out and relax. In fact the 6 hours went pretty quickly. Why cant we fly this way?? If this thing can float I'm sure they can get it to fly. The only ...
