... up a mountain, then there was a road toll to pay as it was private land. We followed that road that brought us to a lake surrounded by forrest. It was full with summer houses which took us by surprise. After some search we found our first place to pitch our tent. Totally alone and surrounded by stillness (and mosquitoes).

taking this back road.
Onwards and upwards I snake around the mountains with next to no view at
all. then suddenly the road heads round a sharp curve and into a small cutting
right at the top of the mountain and there at the other side of the cutting is a
complete change in scenery.
Almost instantly the green trees stopped and the place was a plain of snow
... are now feeling settled and cozy, and it's feeling more like "home". Surprisingly, orchids do really well in Norway! Therefore we have three of them, and hope they continue to bloom like this FOREVER! It will really feel like home when we fill the space with visits and memories...an open invitation of course! There is an extra bedroom here, just not pictured as it needs to be filled; with furniture, and familiar faces ...

Flåm itself is gorgeous. It's situated on a beautiful fjord. Tomorrow we take a train ride into the mountains and a ferry ride on the fjord before heading out for Loen.
Before dinner tonight, we were treated to a beer tasting at the brewery started by the same people who own the hotel. The brewery/pub was cute and I enjoyed the lighter of the beers.
... the morning, and how to get there. We returned home after about an hour of touring the city, we then brushed our teeth and passed out.
I woke up at about 9:30a.m I took a shower, made myself some breakfast and coffee, then decided that I should start my trek downtown.
