Off to Manchester after supper to be next to the airport for the early morning flight! Need to check in at 6.40 am (sigh)... But very excited to get on the way! Hoping for an upgrade due to it being my birthday (10th feb), however, will be very surprised if i get one! Fingers crossed. Etihad flight to Bangkok via Abu Dhabi ...

... they are happy to share the cycling experience with someone who holds them up and complains all the way home ;) I didn't have a chance to take photos today but fortunately my much fitter and faster cyclist did, so you will be able to share some of the sights of today. If you are interested in the actual route we took I have put up 2 photos of the route map. As I understand it the planned elections on 2nd Feb have been boycotted by the opposition and are unwanted by the protesters who are hoping for a military coup as the majority of the middle class support the current regime and Yingluk will undoubtedly be re-elected. The last protest march have left the roads in chaos but the airport and public transport are unaffected at the moment. We have two nights booked in the Khao San area and will move on up ...
