I had made many a trips to Big Bear during the snowboarding season being that it is really the only place you can do a day trip from Vegas. However a few times we got the luxury of having a place to crash for the night. Only Teresa and I would somehow manage to be able to make a crash pad out of Oscar de la Hoyas Big Bear cabin and training compound. The two of us and usually 15 or so of the worlds best fighters under one roof..... we consider ourselves very lucky ladies :)

Big Bear Lake, California, United States bigbearlakeDropped our loaded trailer at the Fontana Werner terminal. Found a truck stop and had a shower, apparently they don't really care if drivers smell or not because the charged $9.75 for the shower, and I couldn't get any hot water, but am cleaner. Picked up our load for Walmart, looks like fruit. oranges, lemons, grapefruit and stuff..We are taking it to Sterling Illinois.
Fontana, California, United States golicon... information, and the last one was to learn about the qualcomm. This is a computer system that you log everything you do, have done are doing where you are, what problems you have etc. Yes a big brother.... Now I will wait till I get a phone call telling me when and where to meet my driver trainer. Hopefully soon.

The whole family took a road trip to San Diego for the day, Bek went with Uncle Dan in his new Crossfire! Fast cars rock! We all enjoyed Mexican food for lunch and the prawns (or shrimp as they say here) were perfect!
San Diego has an 'old town' so we popped in there and had a go on the horse and cart. All the old buildings claim to have hauntings, we will not be visiting in the evening! We also got the opportunity to go onto the Naval ...
... earlier that we had been cursing the Vegas traffic on I-15 and even thought it was a long weekend, this time, the Sunday traffic was much more pleasant. Almost non-existent for us. Coming the other way was a different story, but we did not have to fight it, so it was not too bad. Finally stopped at Victorville. We still needed a reasonably early night after the previous day. And this was just right. Drive - 180 miles

Running Springs, California, United States bogna... range but we figured in times of desperation money is just money and besides - how unglamorous to be in LA and kipping in an airport lounge? As it happened they overcharged us on the bill the next morning so we kicked up such a stink at the front desk that the receptionist got so flustered that she under charged us by about $30 so in the end it was a total bargain for a good night's rest. We had booked a hostel from Monday so had somewhere to go when we left the hotel. The ...
Los Angeles, California, United States hettyg1... blast so that didn't work well. Icy in the morning. Drove through Yosemite and headed south to Los Angeles. We actually stayed in the suburb of Ontario with my aunt and uncle. Had dinner and rested watching tv in the evening. March 25 we toured all around L.A. Went to Beverly Hills, down Rodeo Dr, wandered Venice Beach, Hollywood Walk of Fame (Hollywood is a pit - dirty, seedy) and La Brea Tar Pits. Josh did a great job with the Thomas Guide getting us around. When it was my ...
