... a closet in the condo, look it up sometime, it will amaze you!!
The next morning it was extremely sad to say goodbye to our new friends Adam & Laura. It is not that often that you met such sound people, both could make us laugh so easily and we had great times together. I am sure we will stay in touch for many years, especially now that Kristina is addicted to Facebook!! So we waved goodbye, and set sail for Edmonton to meet Kristina’s mum!
We are currently at Fernie, staying with a friends, we have left the Rv in Cochrane and are here with one of Jos cousins, her aunt and and assortment of cousins children. The golfing is great in this little town and fishing the Elk river is great, we caught lots of ...
Fernie, British Columbia, Canada brentandjo... two of its rear wheels about 2 hours from its final destination! although the greyhound bus is the cheapest way to get around here in Canada it's not the best. We finally get to Fort Steele and Patricia is there waiting for me (the host).
Again like all hosts and there homes you never quite know what to expect but all i can say about this part of B.C is wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When we finally get to farm i am ...
Crossed the Rockies, left Jasper National Park behind as we travel through the Kootenay region, past Fort Steele and stop at Cranbrook. Hope the truck is ready as promised tomorrow, we will drive to Kalispell once more and re-visit Eureka MT on the way. What gorgeous weather we have been granted!
The next morning we had to leave this area of the Rockies and make our way down to our Dude ranch
across the border in Idaho. We drove out of the National Park but before leaving we stopped at the Paint Pots and took a walk to see where the Indians used to collect the iron ore for their painting of teepees and facial paint. The Iron ore is pushed to the surface so there are three large pools of terracotta colour. The indians only used what was necessary, making it into ...
... under and had lunch while watching the hundreds of motorbikes pass. I went over to the post office and posted the gps back to the UK. From there we headed out for another 15 miles to Ghost Lake. Part of the bow river, dammed for Calgary power I guess. We found a perfect campsite down a dead end farm road, short cut lawn, and by the lake. Swim, cook, hang out, music and run through me gear. It was very apparent I had too much weight for this trip. As ...
Fernie, British Columbia, Canada jeydoublesyouas you can imagine, a long flight and transfer have made for a shattered me, but this didn't stop me from going out and partying (sober i might add) with some of my new housemates/friends last night. Bed at 3am and an almost decent sleep and this morning i made my way through the snow that is falling to the local grocery store ...
Fernie, British Columbia, Canada tmd... that. Another day Simon and I headed up to one of the mountain lakes and took his dog Samba for a swim. Also mid week Sam, Krista and I went to the movies in Fernie to see the Simpson movie, it only cost $12 for all 3 of us (an absolute bargin in my books). After the movie we found a quiet pub to have a few cold beers and then started walking home about 11.30pm. We got half way down the main ...
Fernie, British Columbia, Canada mja007... has become very real, we had a large avalanche at the resort a couple of weeks which involved 9 people, all were ok. I spoke to a guy caught up in it and he swam as fast as he could to get above the snow. Very sadly a lady died in another avalanche in Fernie the other week who was checking snow conditions at a near by cat skiing resort. We are being very careful! We have branched out a little ...
Fernie, British Columbia, Canada christian-ro... the tv even mentioned that 500 people in Fernie had been laid off in the last two weeks. Quite significant in a town with population 4000. Meanwhile too much time spent by all of us in the condo was making for somewhat snarky living arrangements. Three of our flatmates are quite younger than Chris and I. I think they somehow had mistaken us for their live-in cleaners. And waking up to a dirty kitchen yet again was getting beyond irksome. Something had to be ...
