... very blowy, wet & wild. All the blood kept rushing to my furry head as Martyn had put me in the tank bag sideways & the bike was leaning so far over to keep upright in the wind. I peeked out at the view to see a very big flood at the dip in the road. A big artic. truck was heading towards us on the other side & met us at the bottom. It make such a big splash that everybody disappeared ...
Ammanford, Wales, United Kingdom charliebearsBack at the St. Brides Spa Hotel in Saundersfoot.
Unfortunately, winter doesn't make this the best place to stay. It's dark when you are at the hotel, so you don't get the views. And the spa doesn't stay open late enough in the winter. At least I will get to enjoy it over the weekend.
And the walk along the coast - kind of scary in the dark. But you do get to see a bunch of stars and parts of the Milky Way because there isn't much light pollution out here.
Ok, this is just a quick check that all is running smoothly with the blog, as I've had some problems. Hopefully You're all now getting e mail updates when a new entry is posted. We've also retrieved the log in details for the travelpod account we created last year so that you can log in and make (nice!) comments. Well done ...
Swansea, Wales, United Kingdom cusanOK, here we go again, sat in Lyn's office trying to sort everything out. This year's trip has proved even more complicated to arrange, especially as we're flying out of Gatwick and back into Heathrow. We never like to do things the easy way! Also the dollar hasn ...
Swansea, Wales, United Kingdom cusanWe woke up in our swanky hotel room the day after our fantastic wedding. We had spent two days celebrating with all of our closest freinds and family. It had been an emotional roller coaster of a weekend (for me anyway) and we were both exhausted... Today was going to be excruciatingly long and hung over!...
Simons only job during the preparation was to organise the honeymoon and keep the destination a secret ...
Booked with Clyne Farms to go horse-back riding on the beach. But first we had to get our skills evaluated because when the horses see the wide open expanse of beach, they want to gallop. I was all for this. But it wasn't meant to be apparently. I've never ridden an English saddle before and it's been years since I've ridden a horse. Same with Jacqui. So the instructor said she ...
Swansea, Wales, United Kingdom big_red_truck... excavated as well as the museum which had some interesting things in it. I wouldn't want to stay in this town for a really long period of time as there is not really that much there. It was very cute and quaint though.
We then set off for London and arrived late afternoon where i said good bye to all my new friends and headed off to Fulham to stay with Jade for a few nights before setting off again.
... I was a bit nervous about that as it would cost £2500 to replace the bike.
We wandered around town, had a pint at the Castle Hotel, another at the White Horse then grabbed a table for dinner at the Angel, which proved to be a good choice. I had butternut squash soup and a blue rump steak while Sarah had huge, tasty prawns and a swordfish steak with excellent chips.
... was a train to Stanstead airport and a flight to Eindhoven, Holland. Nik and I were welcomed with open arms in Holland, it was just fantastic. The first night we had dinner with Gert Jan and Cees then stayed at Yvette and Ronald's. I used to be pen pals with Yvette so it was really really neat to meet her. The next day we had a little tour around the village, Sint Oedenrode where our family lives. It was beautiful, especially because it was autumn and all the trees where shades ...
Swansea, United Kingdom joeychikenThursday the 19th Met up with Mel and Got the bus to Swansea today to see Nik. Met Ramon at the Pub (the national pastime) and grabbed a pub dinner. Then spent the night in Niks one room flat. It was like a teenage sleep over. Friday the 20th Nik took us out to see the countryside today. We went on a bloody long walk, something crazy like 4 hours of rugged countryside. We took the bus to the Gower peninsula. Our bus driver was a total dag and gave us a running commentary and basicly a ...
