Pentyrch, Newport, Caerleon

... scenery, especially in and around Pentyrch. We spent much time looking for and not finding a particular site on Mountain Road and Garth Mountain. We may try again later in the week
We spent 8 hours driving around and in the end had put on about 50 miles on the car. That means we sat and stared at maps an awful lot!
The weather was great, sunny and warm and some of Rhe's chocolate melted in the car.
Having fun and missing Maple.

We Did It!!

... br> Really narrow trail with ferns and brambles ominously reaching out to graze and scratch us.

Three Cliffs Bay – lots of holidaymakers on the path going to and from the beach, especially a group of kids who, in their adorable British accents, were constantly asking each other, "Do want to go on an adventure?" ... plastic wine glasses.

When our knees stopped throbbing somewhat walked to the Cliff top Tram stop and admired, & gulped at the sight of steep climb down to the sea and Lynmouth Bay. We didn't hop on as seems churlish to not take frighteningly steep paths through woods, just said we'd take it on the way back.

Lynmouth Bay village is like a vision, the mammouth cliffs, covered in verdant forests seem to overwhelm the tiny town and its beach, bay and harbour. At one ...

A Fall at the Falls‏

We had another amazing electrical storm in the night, with very heavy rain. It would turn out to be an advantage, as we decided to do a walk up the Neath River to the site of a number of waterfalls. Before that, we skirted Abergavenny (I've been racking my brains all day trying to remember the song...) and popped into Merthyr Tydfil to do a bit of shopping. The road signs here are all in both English ...
