Today we explored Sudbury noticing how green it has gotten, such a huge change from when I arrived here in 1967 after having been hired to teach here over the phone. It was nothing but barren rocks everywhere! Now with the greening projects that have been going on for a number of years the chaange has been dramatic.We spent the day visiting members of Brian's family.

We left home about 8:15 am with the motorhome packed FULL. I drove as far as Pembroke, Then Brian was bored so he took over. We stopped in Deep River for their famous milk shakes, which spoiled lunch! Hello from Carol's Campground just before Sudbury, Ontario!<br><br>Our first night camping out, and boy did we already have some fun. Where to start? Maybe it was the broken fire alarm which wouldn't stop ringing, or the sink that decided to overflow and flood the bathroom and the hall... and some luggage. Not to mention that if things aren't stuck to Mom's hip, it will go missing. That's probably due to the cradle-like rocking of the RV when it's in motion ...

... but I actually find it beautiful and interesting to look at. The rocks vary in color from shades of beige and white to black, gray, copper and golden brown. Some are dull and rough to touch while others are very shiny and smooth. Residential landscaping must be a real challenge. Some of the front yards are built above cut layers of rock and the lawns are seeded on top. It adds a whole new dimension to the yard and actually looks very nice. One thing I noticed is the ...

It wouldn't be the first time.  I went to find Claudette and found her on the observatory deck.  Claudette informed me that we had to stop during the night because of a cargo train in front of us had some mechanical problems.   After I calmed down I went up to the observation deck.  There were beautiful landscapes all around the train.  I took photos for about half an hour but I didn't even realize ...
