... Megan also sent me a loom bracelet that she had made - purple and turquoise, my favourite colours!! Oh and mum also put in some balloons and banners which Phil put up in the room! It felt lovely to get stuff from home, as it's my first birthday away and not spent with my family! I had a lovely 'sing song' on the phone from mum and dad though which was nice, and good to speak to them! Thank you to everyone else also for their birthday wishes and texts too!! :) ...

... people and watching the news we decided to stay put and look for somewhere to stay as it was obvious the blizzard was not going to be improving anytime soon. We booked into the Best Western Strathmore Inn and paid $100 for the night. That was just what it was and it had an indoor pool and hot tub so we were happy to chill out. We had a lovely big room with 2 double beds and our room was on the ground floor so we got to have a park right outside with a door leading in from the back of ...

... hotels do not have porters, you will be doing the lugging yourself. The food is amazing but not like at home. Do not expect butter for your bread, ketchup for your eggs, there is no peanut butter and you will be charged for water if you ask for water. If an entree says chicken that is what you get, just chicken. Remember to order sides of grilled veggies or potatoes if that is what you want. We did find that all of these were easily shareable and waiters are more than willing to ...
