End of term. 4 months in the UK

... most days after riding in to school. It is easy to find a lot of bargains in the large supermarkets. ASDA is our friend and also 2 for 1 deals in local pubs. We have become fans of Indian food at the ‘Great Kathmandu’ just down the road. We are yet to venture into ‘The Curry Mile’ or what Geoff calls ‘Curry Vegas’.

The Adventure Begins!

... br>All being well we'll have managed to cram our worldly possessions into a combined 155 litres of rucksack without too many arguments over whether Clarins Face Products are classed as "essential" and also with a bit of luck our baggage will have made it's way onto the same aeroplane as us : ) and we'll be winging our way to London, next stop Bangkok!

Day 2 - The Reamer

... the gorge up the gorge” debacle followed by kilometres of what, bog? on top of a mountain?!! where the hell were we?!! Also, damn the reservoir where, having run out of water, Ryan requested that I wade in and try and get some water for boiling. Cold! Muddy! Undrinkable! Squidgy!

Boulder Paths

"Over the boulder, down the boulder, **** the boulder, **** THE BOULDER!!!"

There are some points where the paths are naturally made of boulders or large rocks, fine I'm on a mountain I get it. However one day we hit some hard going with a path covered in boulders which, after about twenty minutes, I noticed there weren’t any boulders OFF the path, only on it. A neat line of ******, leg-twisting boulders was ...

Day 1 of the trip

Well the day has finally arrived! The alarm was set for 6.00am but we were both awake before it went off. After a quick breakfast we were on the bike heading for a rendevous at Colin's house in Halling in the rain!

After a quick cup of tea, Leigh up turned on his Triumph Tiger and it was time to set off for the Marsden to meet Lyndsey & David & guess what it ...

... and 3 final patients and was all done by 4pm but didn't get out the door till ten past after all the final farewells and well wishes. Headed home and did the final pack, said farewell to my land lady and the house I have called home since April and was off to Manchester.

Been hanging out at Amy and Dave's - catching up and packing. After girly chats of Fri night, Dave was at the pub with the boys. Amy and I did a quick shop in town ...

... ritual which we got to watch. This particular ritual only happens once a year. There are three different rituals that happens around midsummer, at different points of the day. It was very interesting to watch. One minute, all you see are tourists snapping photo after photo in front of the structure, and then the next thing you know there is a big line of people dressed in long white cloaks walking towards the sacred stones. Some are carrying incense balls, while some are ...

Home!! No No No!!!

... learnt, as well as the above, are unforgettable. It's great though, knowing this has been done for the same price of a reasonably decent new car. This is what we call a good deal, even if others don't. We know what we would choose again! On the trip, we've argued, laughed and got plenty drunk. Louise's sleep walking certainly won't be missed, not to mention Indian Gin and Tonic! Along with this, even the unpleasant places we have visited and not so ...

Sheffield and the Nether Edge

... It is situated in three cozy rooms, with the bar in the central one, the Tavern has the immediate effect of making you want to crash into one of their welcoming sofas, lazily flicking through a paper and calling work to tell them you can't make it in today." I found the meal adequate but nothing to write home about. It may have been a better tavern that B & B; however, that may just have been because I was 'way up on the top floor - lugging my packsack up ...
