... friends in Wyoming. My second night was in Laramie; I arrived at the hotel right at check-in time and enjoyed the following conversation:
(after niceties and my reservation info)
Clerk: "We're still recovering, last night we were 100% full...for the big football game!!"
Me: (friendly as ever) "Oh, is there is a college here?"
Clerk: (as though I've hurt her feelings) "Um, yeah. Maybe you've heard of the University of Wyoming."
... before we would reach our destination of Salt Lake City). On with the day! The dining car was extremely busy with those people more organised at extracting themselves from their bunks than us so we went on to a waiting list for breakfast. It wasn't long before our number was called and we enjoyed a continental in the company of a kind-hearted American lady. We shared more stories and experiences; she had recently rented an RV with Cruise America ...
... and adorable dog ever. You could tell she had been hit because she was super deferential and cowed. I did was not a fan of Tosha because she just had this in-your-face personality which does not work well with me. She was very immature, I think she was definitely under 21. There were many nights she would come home 2am-3am and yell at her brothers for drinking her beer or be loud with friends over. I could hear them through my earplugs.

We wanted to get to Phoenix the day before our flight to Mazatlan so we wouldn't have to rush through the Phoenix airport to make a connecting flight.
