Today is the day we start the drive back home. Little do I know it is to be the most dangerous of our journey.
We get a late start because Julie wants to attend a couple of morning talks. I take a swim while she's out. The pool is not designed as a lap pool. Lap pools have lines on the bottom so you can tell when you are about to hit the …
Unexpected travel day leads to new experiences in new places. Hence, why I'm writing to you all from Omaha, Nebraska.
Day started off with some muffins and fruit snacks, and then I hopped back in the car and went to the Bass Pro Flagship store. And I must say, it is almost better than the LL Bean Flagship store. They have an alligator! …
... the border into Canada as the view of the falls from the USA side is only half as good. I was wondering if the falls would impress having gawked at so many impressive sights over the last few months and dreading wading into another tourist circus. Happily, aside from the $20 parking, the city was no more imposing than Rotorua and the falls were pretty cool. The room smelled funny. It might have had bedbugs, though it is possible I was bitten by something else. Mattress was new. There was a large hole in the bathroom door, and the tub plug apparatus was sitting on the side of the tub (no bath for you!). The clerk we saw when we checked in at 9 pm was still on duty when we checked out at 8 am.
