With me :) Getting excited as the hours pass by it's time to head to the airport a day early to stay in the airport hotel as we had an early flight in the morning. Arrived safely

A travel blog entry by faye69 on Apr 08, 2015

Arrived safely after a great flight from Australia. Traveled business class with Singapore and get 10/10 for service and great food. Transferred to Lufthansa and again good service but beds not as comfortable. First day just wandered around Manchester and got our bearings. Busy place and very industrial. Stayed at the Crowne Plaza and loved it very central just walked to everything. ...

As I was thinking about setting off a boat with a load of nutters on board came roaring past banging the boat about and knocking things onto the floor. It missed me by about 3 inches. They'd come through the Big Lock - a 14ft wide lock - the only one round here - hence the ...

      Finally Middlewich!

A travel blog entry by steve42red on Jun 30, 2011

I set of towards Middlewich this morning - lovely area and weather. The canal gets quite narrow in parts with reeds growing on the side opposite side to the tow path. A couple of emergency type stops with boats coming the other way.

Getting to Middlewich, I went through the Big Lock. It isn't deep - only about 5 ft - but is 14 ft wide - and being the only 14 ft lock round here ...
