      ... that didn't seem to matter! We had a wonderful dinner with a variety of traditional Mexican dishes. Nick and I ate this type of food . . . when we were kids . . . and had Mexican braceros from the northern states of Mexico on the farm to pick pickles (cucumbers) (bracero = manual laborer in Spanish or "one who works using his arms"). All three of the boys (Nick, Pat, and Mike) have enjoyed Mexican or Tex-Mex food every since!

      ... Hemisphere , 5 miles long. Saturday morning we left overcast Winnipeg and headed south to the Emersion US border crossing into North Dakota traveling south to Grand Forks before heading east to Thief River Falls, Minnesota, onward to Duluth and into Superior, Wisconsin. I was expecting a different landscape, but it looked exactly like the prairies and I have never been on so many straight roads that you can see at least 20 kms ahead before you might come upon a slight curve. ...
