Orlando, Home of Everything Disney!
... was our first stop of the day. It was incredible, the whole area was like being in the book, from the buildings, food and drink (they sell Butterbeer) and the rides. It holds a crazy roller coaster and then the most famous ride Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. The line (about an hour long) goes all through Hogwarts and the special effects are brilliant. We won't spoil the ride for you, but it was the best ride we have a ever been on and we did it twice!! The ...

Anyway, I also worked on several launch bays, at Invasion, Comix, and Astro Exit. There were a lot of Argentinian girls once again at DisneyQuest, so that was pretty entertaining. The language barrier can be frustrating at times, but I often found myself laughing at many of the situations. On coasters, the one girl's restraints were lowered too far onto her thighs, so it ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Holiday Inn Main Gate East Kissimmee
Good hotel for off WDW stay
Stayed one night with a $63 AAA rate. Helpfull staff, recent revovations to building and grounds well done. Rooms have balconies. New mattresses with fitted sheets. Numerous restaurants nearby and very convenient to Disney Parks.
A very nice Hotel for Disney vistors
We booked this hotel through Priceline hoping it won't be that great. But once we arrived there, it was amazing. We received a Corner Room with king bed, fridge, micro-oven, Sofa set. Room was beautiful even though the bathroom was pretty small (no big deal). They have a nice pool, beautiful lobby, workers were nice. It is very close to Disney world parks and downtown Disney. Plus, there are several fast food, casual, fine restaurants. McD, KFC, Benngins, Pizza Hut, Checkers, Windey's, Subway, and much more just walking distance from the hotel.
Hotel also has complementary shuttle to Magical Kingdom and Epcot, but we only used it two days (in our 7 days Disney). The shuttle guy was unreliable in showing up on time. It took an hour to get from hotel to park and another hour to get back; which was a waste of time. So we drove to Disney, which only took 7-10 minutes.
We highly recommend this hotel for any of your Orlando travel needs.

EXC. Hotel--Give the newly renovated Holiday Inn a chance (formerly Travelodge)
Just got back from a one night stay at the Holiday Inn Maingate. Needed a hotel for one night while traveling north from Miami. Found a coupon for $45.99 in one of those travel booklets found at the rest areas on the Florida turnpike. Was skeptical, because I remembered this hotel as the Travelodge, and thought it looked kind of run down when I had seen it on previous trips to WDW. We'd never stayed there, and lately have been staying onsite at WDW at one of the "value" All-Star resorts.
Thought I'd give it a chance, given than the coupon was pretty reasonable. I went into the lobby to get a feel for the hotel and was really, really pleased. Based on my impression of the lobby, I took a chance on a room. The checkin person said that they only had a "kid's suite" available using the coupon, so I took the room right away.
My mom and toddler were traveling with me, and we were all very happy with how the entire hotel looked. The lobby looks great, the elevators and hallways were nicely remodeled, and our room was excellent! We had a queen with two bunk beds, and the room came with two televisions and a fridge. The bathroom was a bit small, but was super nice and very clean. We had a street view room on the 3rd floor (1307) and I would highly recommend requesting this side, as it offers the best view, in my opinion.
The bad reviews and candid photos on this site are for this hotel when it was a Travelodge. I urge you to try this hotel now that it is a completely renovated Holiday Inn. We would stay here again in a heartbeat, though we will probably continue to stay onsite at WDW so that we can fully experience the "magic" of WDW!!! Honestly, our room at the Holiday Inn was much nicer and a little bigger (and had a fridge to boot) than those at the value or even the moderate resorts onsite at WDW.
Impressed by this Holiday Inn
This Holiday Inn has just been renovated and our room was amazing. (I'm thinking that the negative reviews this hotel received were before the renovation) There was a living area with a couch, seat, and coffee table along with the King size bed. Very nicely decorated as well. And a quick drive from the Magic Kingdom and Downtown Disney. We paid $50/night from Priceline and it was well worth it!
Great hotel, great price, great location to visit Orlando attractions!
My family of 4 stayed here for a quick trip to Disney area. I got the room & rate from Priceline which I thought was a good deal. After looking at pictures & reviews, I was very apprehensive, but upon checking in - I found that it was great. We had a room with a Queen bed & a set of bunks. The kids thought that was great. We ate at the hotel restaurant for breakfast & it was a little pricey ($25 for 2, since kids "eat free"). We took off for the Magic Kingdom at 8:15, got there at 8:30am & were at the park all day until close. The hotel was very nice, clean, and convenient to many attractions & restaurants. I would definitely recommend it & I would stay there again.
Nice stay in a newly remodeled room
Got a reasonable room through Priceline -- was a little hesitant about the stay given some of the reviews. We got a freshly remodeled room with a comfortable bed and it was great! Only downside was it overlooked the satellite dish for the hotel, but can't complain given we were going for a cheap but comfy place to sleep between theme parks. Lobby and pool areas clean/comfy as well.
