An 06:00 flight tomorrow so a cheap night in a Travelodge is much better than a 2 a.m start from home, so it was off to unlovely Luton for the night after work.
Not much to say, really. It's not a town I would recommend for a visit. We had a Chinese buffet in Aroma in the centre and a drink in the nearby Lloyds and then went to bed.
Somewhere to stay before the flight
The weather was a bit better this morning so we headed back up to Pitsford Reservoir, where we tracked down a couple of drake Smew, perhaps the most attractive of the ducks found in the UK and also one of the scarcest. Plenty of other wildfowl on the reservoir as well, though it's a shame that you need a permit to gain access to most of it.
