      Vanmorgen om 8u zijn we vertrokken. Vandaag hebben we veel tijd op de bus doorgebracht. Via Playa del Rey zijn we naar Marina del Rey, het Venetië van LA gereden. Op Venice Beach zijn we een kleine wandeling gaan doen. Daarna zijn we Santa Monica Beach gepasseerd. Gelukkig voor ons zijn we hier 4 jaar geleden geweest, want hier zijn we nu niet …

      ... is not great about ....18c very cold wind coming off the ocean .... but the sun was shinning so it was still very pleasant. We walked along to beach for 2 km towards the pier .... there was stalls set up for the farmers markets so we stopped and browsed.

      At the end of the markets there was a little surf shop of course I had to stop and shop .... to ...

      ... Durango until we had to put Velcro on the sliding doors to stop her from opening them. Hmmmm, who taught her to do that?

      We’d had enough tastings by this time and headed for Los Olivos to look for the flavored vinegar. We stopped at a couple places, one being a shop specializing in vinegars and oils, but they only had fruit infused items, no garlic or hot pepper selections.       ... beautiful pacific coast. On the way we made a stop and fed squirrel's that even claimed on us. There we also saw sea elephants.

      Our final destination was my host parents house in Santa Maria where lots of my old friends were waiting for me and Mac to arrive. But the first thing we needed to do was to take a shower.
      the rest of the day we just relaxed, had dinner and watched some TV.

      ... family entertainment center on the third could also present a noise problem, which it does for some. But this is the only game in town, at least within a 30 mile radius, so this is where we will stay. It is a little noisy. The noise the go carts make from the Boomers facility being the most offensive, at least for me. The good thing is that the park shuts down at 2200 hours or shortly thereafter so getting a good nights sleep is usually not a problem.
