I did not sleep at all well last night. It was extremely cold in the tent, probably because of the clearness of the sky, my feet and indeed my whole body were cold despite my usually reliable sleeping bag. This, coupled with the exertions of yesterday, mean that I don't full of energy in the morning, but I must press on regardless.

Today we took a drive around the western rim of the lake....absolutely beautiful.,Lots of very narrow roadways with no shoulder and hairpin curves. The jeep handled it well. ... Along the way we stopped at several spots with beautiful vistas of the Lake, especially Emerald Bay. The 3-hour cruise took us to that beautiful Bay with its clear water. After the cruise we drove into Nevada along the eastern portion of the lake stopping in Carnelian Bay for another waterfront meal at Gar Woods. We enjoyed the view from our hotel until dark. Tomorrow, on to wine country.
