We got a transfer over to Seaworld first thing this morning, the first attraction that we went to see was shamu, the killer whale what we had come to San Diego for in the first place, and what an animal! So beautiful, talented and very large! We also saw, dolphins, pilot whales, sting ray, sharks, polar bears, walrus, seals and even dogs and cats, oh and a pig! ... minor hills it was an easy ride and with the bay beside us and the city skyline ahead of us it was very scenic but most of it was alongside a major auto route so it wasn’t nearly as enjoyable as the Santa Monica bike route. We stopped to take photos at a couple of the naval yard gates and discovered that the finely manicured lawn area was artificial grass! ... through and we got an awesome behind the scenes tour of the rehabilitation and veterinary facilities. We saw some Commerson's Dolphins, awesome little black and white mammals that are lightening fast underwater. We pat the Bottlenose dolphin and fed them cubes of unsweetened blue jello, just for fun. There were also wild Sealion pups (abandon and rescued) and some adults awaiting their return to the wild.
An awesome experience to be sure.
