The Prairies - Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba

... Brenda and her husband Darren to put us up for the night near Calgary. Unfortunately we didn’t get there until around midnight and having never actually met them we felt terrible turning up that late in the dark and rain, but they were great about it and had a proper chat the next morning. Luckily we had bought a bottle of wine to thank them with.

Later that morning we had brunch at another of Nath’s work colleague’s houses. It was nice to visit ...

Hello from Calgary

... in Montreal. The New Cities (also from Montreal) started the show at 8 and then Simple Plan came on at 9. By then it was getting cold out so Melissa and I walked back to the car and waited for the girls thee.

We were back at the tent by 11:30 and asleep not long afterward. None of us slept very well though because it was soooo c-c-c-cold!

We may have had a lot of rain but it always stopped when we've needed it to. We've been very lucky so far! (Knock wood)

Will I ever get to leave

... according to our hotel voucher, but no hotel stands at this destination. Only a locked door, no hotel signs and no people around. Not how we had expected to arrive at our destination. After a moment of complete and utter silence we decide to find a hotel that is open and see if they can help us. A couple of tries later we find a small hotel and a clerk who looks on the internet, finds an alternate address for us and gives us a map. Our new address is ...

To Never Cease

We shall not cease from exploration... I will always be curious about what I don't know. I will always want to reach out and gain knowledge by being present in the question and, tangibly, seeking out the answer. What does the sky look like in Australia at 7pm (a rainbow-hued bonfire), what does fruit taste like in Thailand (sugar water with bursts of surprising flavour), what does a meadow smell like in Ireland (wet earth mixed with animal wilderness), what ...

Freakin' OUT!

... learning to adapt to new situations. It's the ego that tries to tell us that we can't or shouldn't. The ego likes to be in control and doesn't like it when it's not...which is how it is when you live in the present. And so, in about 15 hours I will be on German soil trying to communicate with people whose main language is one I don't understand. I will get by the best I can. What's the worst that can happen? Nothing that I know of that ...

Calgary - The Zoo & The Glenbow

... the Calgary Zoo was one of the best I have ever been too. These people put so much into their zoo. And it seemed like their animals were playing around for the most part. At first we saw a Siberian Tiger but it was too well hidden in the grass to get a pic. Then we saw some mountain goats chasing each other all around. Next it was to the elephants where the bull - names Spike - had metal plates on his tusk to keep him from busting them up. On and on our ...

The Missing Link!

... me and Hannah. You have to trust me when I say that what was written there was "divinely" put into my head. The signs were there so that I would write that stuff. Why? Because I have a story to be told that is somewhat unbelievable because I still cannot prove that this stuff actually works. It's still all theory, to all of you. I've written how I've gotten rid of numerous "Demons" or fears, that I had. I do have an anxiety disorder. I have a psychologist ...

Calgary

Its 5 a.m. and we're up to catch the airport bus to Halifax Airport at 6a.m. There's no breakfast available and we stumble out onto the street to join the early morning people going to work. I thought we'd given all this up!!! The bus arrives late and then lurches from hotel to hotel collecting other zombies until we finally arrive at the airport some 25 miles out of town. There was however a glorious bright red dawn that slowly ...

Less than 2 months to go!

So it is less than 2 months to go before we leave... again :) Am ready to hit the road again, even if it IS only for a mere 3 weeks this time. We've been working with different flight and travel itineraries, trying to pack in as much as we possibly can in such a short period of time. With the wedding ( yes #2 for his family) taking most ...
