    ... Oakridge and saw where it was dammed for Hydro Power. Along the road we came upon a covered bridge which had been built in1945. It is no longer in use. The original had been built in 1907. Our hotel is near the Willamette River and tonight we walked along the riverside walk for a couple of miles to eat at Cameron's favourite American Italian Restaurant, The Olive Garden.     ... was wild, it was cool (maybe downright cold) and desolate. That’s what was so alluring and worth the extra miles. One other observation, unlike Route 1 up the East Coast, this highway provided many great overlooks of the Pacific.     Total miles 7,406 Good amount of driving last night, around 90 miles, after I finished the blog from yesterday. This has me on Interstate 5 North. Will be heading up to 42 West and then following 101 all the way up the coast, into Washington over the next few days.
