We have reached the end of June and are now in Washington!

This morning, we walked about Sandpoint a bit before we left. It is a quaint little town of about 7,000 people that swells with tourists to the nearby lake in the short summer season. ... Flat Rest Area on the way, and found that a Forest Service CG , unknown to us, was actually attached to the Rest Area! So, being a pair of astute travelers, we stopped.

I drove with a couple friends to the center of the state. We stopped at a viewpoint of the Columbia river gorge and then did the flat hike to the Ancient Lakes - really pretty colorful lakes amongst the basalt coulees, complete with a waterfall.
