After a night on the train where we had a bit of sleep, we arrived in Chicago about 11.00am.The outlook as we came in was a few glimpses of Lake Michigan and lots of iron and steel works. There were canals and lifting bridges. Later our tour guide told us that there are 40 plus bridges on the Chicago river, that lift. We walked the 5 mins to our hotel, but our room wasn't ready, so we stored our luggage and went to find out about our tour. (phew, no showers!). ...
